A Letter to Elizabeth Chapin

Janette Villegas wrote her response letter to Elizabeth Chapin. Villegas agrees with Chapin that the city should remain intact. She and Chapin oppose the destruction of buildings, landmarks and trees to create things that people will not benefit from. Villegas gives the example of O'Hare and the harm the proposed expansion will cause to the many families that live in the area.

I agree with both Villegas and Chapin when they speak about violence. Both think that violence is not the solution to problems, but an addition to the problem. "Why is it so difficult to live in peace?" is the question Villegas concludes with. It is a question that I ask as well. I know that others ask that too.
